Let’s get ready to have the time of your life exploring Montenegro’s coastal gems.

Coast of Montenegro: Where We Are Going

We begin this adventure with a scenic drive around Kotor Bay, reaching Perast as our first stop of the day. Once known as the town of sailors, Perast will amaze you with its beauty. With its narrow streets and the Baroque-style palaces, it captures the hearts of all visitors. Furthermore, you get to explore the famous stone houses and captain’s mansions, which are a testament to the power and wealth that Perast used to hold.

From there, we hop on a boat, to reach Our Lady of the Rocks. This manmade island, built in the 15th century, is one of the most popular attractions in Montenegro. Perched on the sea, this majestic structure certainly grabs attention. Plus, a visit to the island’s church and museum takes you on a path down history lane. Among other things, you’ll learn about the annual custom of sinking rocks to expand the island, called Fasinada.

Moving on, we take a panoramic drive to Budva, another town at the coast of Montenegro. A walking tour of Budva teaches you of its history and culture. After some free time in this town, we drive to St. Stefan. Once a former fishing village, now a luxury resort town, this is the perfect spot for a photo break. So, grab your camera and start clicking.

Driving back to the Bay, we stop at Kotor, for a walking tour of the Old Town, a well-preserved UNESCO World Heritage site. The Renaissance, Medieval, Gothic, as well as Venetian architecture styles demonstrate its rich history. And, dating back to the Byzantine are, it sure has quite a history.

So, we complete our journey with another gem found along the coast of Montenegro. Take time to share your impressions. And the amazing photos.
