Private Multi-Day Trip: Starting Your Journey in Montenegro
Whether you’re arriving in Tivat, Podgorica, or Dubrovnik, we have you covered. Airport pick-up is arranged, allowing you not to worry about transportation. From the airport, you’re taken to your accommodation in Kotor. This completes day one. So, take the rest of the day to settle in and recharge your batteries for day 2.
Day 2 starts in the morning, with a scenic drive to Perast. From there, we take a quick boat ride to the Our Lady of the Rocks island. The architectural beauty of the church and the museum on the island will capture your attention. And, you will have plenty of time to explore it and learn about its rich heritage.
Then, the boat takes us back to Perast. There, you get some free time to explore this beautiful town nestled on the Adriatic coast.
After that, we take a drive back to Kotor, where we embark on a walking tour, exploring the Old Town. Filled with beautiful monuments serving as a testament to medieval architecture, the Old Town of Kotor will captivate you.
This brings day 2 of our journey to a halt.
Days 3 to 5: Leaving the Coast Behind
Time to leave the coast behind, and take a trip to Cetinje. We start with a drive to Njeguši, taking a panoramic road. A few photo stops along the way will allow you to savor the moment and take the beauty in. As well as, of course, take some memorable photos.
We take more photo stops at Lovćen National Park, reveling in the history, folklore and culture of this area. Njegoš Mausoleum, located at the top of Mount Lovćen, at 1656m altitude, is our next amazing destination. Its historical significance, coupled with unique architecture and breathtaking views, provides for an unforgettable experience.
Next, we take a ride to Cetinje, and spend time walking around the city, exploring its beauty and culture. Then, we are welcomed in one of the local households for lunch, where we get to enjoy some traditional dishes. Afterwards, we drive back to Kotor, enjoying the beauty of the coast along the way and officially completing day 3.
Day 4 is free for you to spend any way you want.
On day 5, we drive to the Skadar Lake National Park, visiting Rijeka Crnojevića, a small town near the coast. We spend a couple of hours here, allowing you to partake in numerous activities.
A scenic boat trip, lunch, wine tasting, photo sessions… The hours will fly by as you explore this beautiful town, talking to the locals and learning about its history.
On our drive back to Kotor, you have a choice to make. Want to stop in Budva for a walking tour? You’d like to visit the Jaz beach and take a swim? Or, perhaps you’d prefer another photo session in front of St. Stefan? Whatever you decide!
Day 6 to Day 8: Exploring Albania on Your Private Multi-Day Trip
Day 6 begins with a two-hour ride from Kotor to Shkoder. Then, we take a short break at the Rozafa castle, offering a beautiful view of the Skadar lake.
After that, we take a ride to Mrizi i Zanave, for the ultimate agrotourism experience. We visit the farm, and then enjoy a nice lunch, seeing the “farm to table” concept at work.
Afterwards, we take a ride to Tirana, where we spend the night.
Day 7 is all about Tirana and Kruje. First, you take a guided tour of the capital of Albania, admiring the amazing architecture and the cultural heritage.
Then, we drive to Kruje, a small town just 20km away from Tirana. Known to be inhabited by the ancient Illyrian tribe of the Albani, Kruje holds great historical significance for this country. After a visit to the National Museum, we drive back to Tirana, and have lunch in one of the traditional Albanian restaurants.
On day 8 we visit Berat, which is an hour and a half drive from Tirana. A local guide takes you on a walking tour of this city that’s known for white Ottoman houses.
Next, we pay a visit to the Tomorri Mountain National Park, where you get the opportunity to see rare wildlife and birds of prey. In fact, this place is known as a habitat of eagles and wolves. Quite something to look forward to.
We complete the day by driving back to Tirana, spending another night in the capital of Albania.
From 9 to 11: A Private Multi-Day Trip Nearing Its End
The 9th day of our private multi-day trip is devoted to southern Albania. After a 2-hour drive from Tirana, we reach Gjirokaster, known as the Stone City. The fortified houses from the Ottoman Era, the delicious cuisine, the Old Bazaar, the Ali Pasha Bridge… Gjirokaster is a city that will remain etched into your memory.
After a walking tour of the Stone City, we have lunch at one of the restaurants serving traditional food. Thus, putting the delicious cuisine to the test.
We continue our journey to the “Blue Eye”, a natural wonder of Albania. This unique water spring is definitely a must see!
When the exploration is over, we take a drive to Saranda, a city located on the open gulf of the Ionian sea.
After a night in Saranda, we start day 10 with a drive to Butrint, to visit the Butrint National Park. The well-preserved archeological site is home to stunning artefacts. So, this is a great opportunity to further explore the history of Albania. As well as to enjoy the views of the majestic ruins dating back to the 7th century.
Next, we pay a visit to the Ksamil monastery. Then, you get to spend some free time on the Ksamil beach, or in Saranda itself.
Day 12 is a bit more active. So, adventure seekers are going to love it. We start with a speedboat transfer from Saranda to Corfu, Greece. A local tour guide takes us on a walking tour, after which we have lunch and enjoy some free time.
After lunch, we take a hike in Paleokastritsa, a village in Corfu known for its beautiful scenery. The hike is easy and suitable for all ages. Therefore, everyone can enjoy it.
Saying Our Goodbyes
Following a night in Corfu, it’s time to bring our private multi-day trip to a close.
Looking back on the journey, we’ll share some highlights and say our goodbyes.
Private transfer to the Corfu airport is organized, thus completing the experience the same way we started it. With you relaxing, enjoying yourself and creating wonderful memories, and us handling the logistics.
