Perast Hike: The Route and the views
The starting point of the Perast hike is a 30-minute drive away. So, the guide meets you at a location of your convenience, and you start the day with a relaxing ride. Along the way, you get to enjoy some stunning views. Slowly leaving the hustle and bustle of the town to reach the peaceful area of Ledenice village, where we start the hike.
An old Austro-Hungarian road dating back to the 19th century takes us all the way to fort Å anik. The views from the Å anik fort are worth the 2-hour long hike. But, so is the hike itself, as it follows a beautiful path, weaving through forests and going past old villages. Plus, the sights of old building ruins as the relics of another time make the hike even more remarkable.
Continuing on the same path, the hike goes up for another hour, until we reach the St. Andrija fortress. Winding through a picture perfect beech forest, the path is like straight out of a fairytale. Mesmerizing and enthralling. In short, a dream come true for all nature lovers.
Finally, we reach the top, where we are met with breathtaking panoramic views. The St. Andrija fortress overlooks the Bay of Kotor, as well as Mount Vrmac, and the Verige Strait. Apart from their beauty, those sites stand out for their history and cultural heritage. Thus, you will hear the most amazing stories on your Perast hike, in addition to enjoying the most beautiful views.
After losing ourselves in the enthralling sights, we return back to reality and continue our adventure with an hour long hike back down to Perast.
